REHABILITATION AND EXPANSION OF UMEJEI ROAD, WITH DRAINS IN IBUSA AND A SPUR TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE IBUSA, OSHIMILI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The rehabilitation and expansion of Umejei Road with drains in Ibusa, including a spur to the Federal Government Girls College Ibusa, in Oshimili South Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at upgrading the existing road infrastructure to improve accessibility, traffic flow, and drainage within the area. The project includes 4,915m length, (Umuejei road = 4,000m length, FGGC road = 915m), 10m pavement width, 12m clearance width and 9,830m length of drain.
The scope of work for the road includes site clearance, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earthfill, concrete works involving concrete drains, culverts, slabs and pavement surfacing consisting of crushed stone base and two layers of asphalt.
Upon completion, the project will provide a durable road network with effective drainage facilities that reduce flooding, enhance road safety, improve access to the Federal Government Girls College and surrounding residential communities; it will also reduce transportation costs, stimulate socio-economic activities, and contribute to sustainable infrastructure development and improved quality of life in Oshimili South Local Government Area.
