REPLACEMENT OF DAMAGED 7.5MVA 33/11 INJECTION TRANSFORMER AT OWA-ALERO IN IKA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

The project involved the replacement of a damaged 7.5 MVA, 33/11 kV injection transformer at Owa-Alero in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State. The failure of the existing transformer had significantly disrupted electricity supply to Owa-Alero and surrounding communities, affecting households, commercial activities, and public institutions dependent on stable power. The intervention therefore focused on the procurement, installation, and commissioning of a new injection transformer to restore distribution capacity and ensure reliable electricity supply within the affected network.

By reinstating dependable power, the project supports improved living conditions, enhanced business productivity, and uninterrupted operation of social services such as health facilities, schools, and water systems in the beneficiary communities. The intervention strengthens the resilience of local energy infrastructure and contributes to sustainable socio-economic development in Ika North-East LGA. Overall, the project advances progress toward Sustainable Development Goals on Affordable and Clean Energy, resilient infrastructure, decent work, and sustainable communities by ensuring stable electricity access in Owa-Alero and its environs.
