CONSTRUCTION OF AN ACCESS ROAD TO THE AIRFORCE BASE AT THE OSUBI AIRPORT OSUBI, OKPE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The construction of an access road to the Air Force Base at Osubi Airport in Okpe Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at improving access to the military facility and enhancing transportation infrastructure in the area. The road involves 2,750m of length, 9.4m average clearance width, 7.3m pavement width, 5,484m rectangular drain, 200m rectangular discharge off shoot drain and 36m box culvert.
The scope of works for the swampy road includes; site clearance, removal of unsuitable materials, sharp river sand fill, concrete work comprising concrete drains, discharge drains, culverts, access slabs, pavement surfacing consisting of crushed stone base, soil cement stabilization, binder and wearing courses, installation of solar street light and thermoplastic marking.
The project will facilitate the efficient movement of military personnel, equipment, and civilians, improve connectivity to Osubi Airport, enhance security and emergency response capabilities, support economic activities around the airport, and contribute to sustainable infrastructure development and improved accessibility in Okpe Local Government Area.
