Project Description

The project involves the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of Old Okpanam Road in Okpanam, covering the stretch from Post Office Junction through the St. Michael's Catholic Church roundabout to the Okpanam Bypass Junction. The scope of the 2,750m length with 1,000m drains includes site clearance, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earthfill, desiltation of drains, scarification, regulation of potholes, concrete works involving concrete drains, culverts, slaps and pavement surfacing consisting of crushed stone base and two layers of asphalt as well as thermoplastic markings.

Upon completion, the project will significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, and enhance road safety for commuters and residents. It will also minimize vehicle maintenance costs associated with poor road conditions and support local economic activities by improving access to markets and services. Overall, the rehabilitation will contribute to sustainable urban development and improved quality of life within the area.
