CONSTRUCTION OF ABOH-AKARAI ROAD WITH A BRIDGE ACROSS THE OKIRI RIVER, NDOKWA EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

The project entails the construction of the Aboh–Akarai Road, including a bridge across the Okiri River, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area. The scope of work for the 10.90km length, 7.3m width of pavement, 100m span bridge with 2.5m should includes site clearance, removal of topsoil, unsuitable materials, earth fill, 150mm thick crushed stone base course, grassed shoulders, demolition of undersized existing concrete drains, construction of concrete drains, slabs, construction of non-navigational 100m length of reinforced cconcrete birdge consisting of 5Nos. spans of 20m longitudinal concrete beams, concrete culverts, rigid pavement and surfacing with one layer of asphalt.

Upon completion, the road and bridge will significantly improve accessibility between Aboh and Akarai, reducing travel time and eliminating challenges associated with river crossings. It will enhance the movement of goods and services, improve access to essential facilities, and support socio-economic development in the area. Ultimately, the project will contribute to improved living standards and sustainable regional development.
