CONSTRUCTION/ASPHALT OVERLAY OF MOMOH/OKERE/FRIDAY ANI STREETS OFF OVIE PALACE ROAD IN EFFURUN, UVWIE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The project involves the construction and asphalt overlay of Momoh, Okere, and Friday Ani Streets located off Ovie Palace Road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area. The proposed 746m road consists of 285m on Momoh Close, 173m on Okere Close, and 288m on Friday Ani Street. The road is in a deplorable state and is frequently flooded during the rainy season, making it impassable and causing significant difficulty for residents living in the area. The scope of work for a 746m length of road includes earthwork comprising the removal of unsuitable materials, filling with sharp sand, and laying a stone base; and concrete works comprising concrete drains and slabs. It also involves asphalt works of two layers of Hot Roll Asphalt, comprising binder course and wearing course.
The road, if completed, will significantly improve the overall road network in Effurun and further enhance the socio-economic well-being of residents living in the area. In addition, the provision of proper drainage will serve as a discharge channel for flood waters, particularly along the Friday Ani street axis thereby addressing perennial flooding challenges.
