RECONSTRUCTION OF OREROKPE-EKU ROAD (SECTION I) FROM UGOLO JUNCTION AT KM 0+000-KM 13 + 000, OKPE AND ETHIOPE EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The reconstruction of the Orerokpe–Eku Road (Section I), from Ugolo Junction (Km 0+000) to Km 13+000 in Okpe Local Government Area and Ethiope East Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. The project involvess 13,000m total length of road, 13.5m pavement width (binder), 8m pavement width (wearing), 2.75m x 2 shoulders, 8.0m pavement width and 5,000m side drain.
The scope of the project includes removal of unsuitable materials, scarification of failed existing bituminous surfacing, scarification and pulverization of existing bituminous surfacing on the stable sections as fillings, sharp sand filling, soil stabilization, concrete works comprising of crushed stone base and asphaltic binder on 13.5m carriageway width inclusive of the shoulders and asphaltic wearing course on the 8m carriageway width.
The project will reduce vehicle operating costs, enhance connectivity between communities and markets, stimulate trade and investment, improve access to essential social services, and promote sustainable infrastructure development and economic growth across Okpe and Ethiope East Local Government Areas.
