REHABILITATION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF OTU-JEREMI/UDU ROAD FROM WARRI-PORTHARCOURT EXPRESSWAY BY ECN JUNCTION TO DSC EXPRESSWAY BY UDU ROAD JUNCTION, WITH A SPUR TO OTOR-UDU, UGHELLI SOUTH AND UDU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The rehabilitation and reconstruction of Otu-Jeremi/Udu Road from the Warri–Port Harcourt Expressway by ECN Junction to the DSC Expressway by Udu Road Junction, with a spur to Otor-Udu in Ughelli South Local Government Area and Udu Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at improving road infrastructure and regional connectivity through the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the existing road network and its connecting spur.
The road involved 24,523m length with spurs, 7.3m pavement width, 5m clearance width and 14,065m length of drains. The scope of work for the project includes clearing of sites, scarification of failed bituminous surface, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earth fill, crushed stone base, regulation of potholes, construction of drains, culverts and pavement surfacing consisting of binder and course on the section for reconstruction and shoulders and wearing course on the entire carriageway of 24,523km.
The project will enhance the movement of people, goods, and services, improve access to surrounding communities and economic centres, stimulate commercial activities, and contribute to sustainable infrastructure and socio-economic development in Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas.
