Project Description

The project involves the rehabilitation of the Ekakpamre, Ekprokpe, Usiefurun, and Orhuwhorun Road network spanning Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas. The scope of works for the 12,000 metres length of road consists of scarification of failed sections, excavation/removal of unsuitable materials, sharp sandfill, demolition of failed culverts, undersized drains, desiltation of existing drains, construction of drains, culverts, slabs and pavement surfacing involving crushed stone base, regulation and concrete pavement for 550 metres length and a layer of 40mm thick wearing course for 6,550 metres.

The project is expected to significantly improve transportation across the affected communities, reduce travel time, and enhance safety for road users. It will facilitate the movement of goods and services, promote economic activities, and improve access to social amenities such as schools and healthcare facilities. Additionally, the rehabilitation will contribute to sustainable infrastructural development and overall community growth.
