THE REACTIVATION AND INSTALLATION WORKS OF SOLAR STREETLIGHT AT CABLE POINT, ASABA, OSHIMILI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

The project entails the reactivation of existing non-functional solar streetlights and the installation of additional solar-powered lighting units along Cable Point in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area. The works include inspection and repair of solar panels, batteries, charge controllers, poles, and luminaires of previously installed systems, as well as the supply and erection of new solar streetlight assemblies at identified dark spots. The intervention is designed to restore and expand reliable, off-grid public lighting using renewable solar energy technology suited to the local environment.

Upon completion, the upgraded solar streetlighting network will significantly improve nighttime visibility, pedestrian and vehicular safety, and security conditions within the Cable Point corridor and adjoining neighborhoods. The project also reduces public energy costs and environmental impact by replacing or supplementing grid-dependent lighting with clean energy solutions. Overall, the initiative contributes to safer, more resilient urban infrastructure and supports sustainable development objectives in Asaba and the wider Oshimili South area.
