COMPLETION OF CRASH ROAD AND GATE ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RUNWAY AT ASABA AIRPORT IN OSHIMILI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

The completion of the crash road and gate on both sides of the runway at Asaba International Airport in Oshimili South Local Government Area, by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is aimed at strengthening airport safety infrastructure and improving operational efficiency within the airport environment. The project involves 870m length of road, 6m pavement width, 1m x 2 sides shoulder width, 8m clearance width and 1 crash gate. The scope of works for the road includes site clearance, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earth fill, concrete works comprising concrete drains, culverts, stone pitching, soil cement stabilization, crash gates and pavement surfacing comprising crushed stone base, one layer of asphalt and thermoplastic road markings.

The project will enhance safety and security operations at the airport, improve access for emergency and maintenance services, and support efficient airport management. It will also contribute to improved aviation infrastructure, boost transportation development, and promote economic activities associated with air travel and commerce in Delta State.
