Project Description

The construction of internal roads in Okwagbe, Imode, and Eyara communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area, under the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, is aimed at improving road infrastructure and enhancing accessibility within the benefiting communities. The project involves 600m length, 190m spur, 6m pavement width, 1,390m length of side drain, and 20m length of discharge drain. The scope of works for the roads includes site clearance, stripping of topsoil and unsuitable materials, earth filling with sharp sand, soil-cement stabilization and construction of concrete drains, culverts and access slabs. The pavement structure shall consist of a crushed stone base, followed by surfacing with two layers of Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA), comprising binder and wearing courses and thermoplastic road markings.

The project will improve the movement of residents, reduce transportation challenges, and enhance access to homes, schools, markets, and other public facilities within the communities. It will also promote economic and social activities, improve environmental sanitation through proper drainage systems, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ughelli South Local Government Area.
