CONSTRUCTION OF AJUYAH STREET IN WARRI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The construction of Ajuyah Street in Warri South Local Government Area, initiated by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, focuses on developing a durable and accessible road network to improve transportation within the community. The scope of work for the 670m length of road, 892m of drains and 7.3m average pavement width includes earthworks comprising the removal of unsuitable materials, filling with sharp sand and laying of stone base; concrete works comprising concrete drains and slabs. It also involves asphalt works of two layers of hot Roll Asphalt comprising binder course and wearing course.

The project typically involves activities such as land clearing, grading, drainage construction, and asphalt laying to ensure a smooth and long-lasting road surface. By upgrading the street, the project aims to reduce transportation challenges, improve mobility, and enhance connectivity between residential and commercial areas.

In addition, the project is expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of the area by facilitating easier movement of goods and services, reducing travel time, and improving road safety. It will also help in controlling erosion and flooding through proper drainage systems, thereby creating a more sustainable and livable environment for residents of Warri South Local Government Area.
