Project Description

The construction of Mereje/Erogho Road (Phase I) is aimed at developing a durable and motorable road network to improve access between communities in Okpe Local Government Area. The project includes 12.77km length of road includes site clearing, scarification of failed stone base sections, removal of topsoil and unsuitable materials, sharp sand fill, crushed stone base, demolition of undersized and non-functional drainage structure, construction of reinforced concrete drains, access slabs, box/ring culverts at flood prone sections and pavement surfacing consisting of two layers of hot rolled asphalt, binder and wearing courses on the carriageway as well as pavement markings.

The project is expected to enhance transportation, reduce travel time, and improve safety for road users. It will also support economic activities by facilitating the movement of goods and services, thereby boosting local trade and development. Additionally, the construction work will create employment opportunities and contribute to sustainable infrastructural growth in the area.
