Project Description

The project involves the establishment of thirty greenhouse technology units for the cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers under the Accelerated Agriculture Development Scheme (AADS) at Southern Delta University, Orerokpe Campus. It includes the installation of modern greenhouse structures, irrigation systems, and other necessary equipment to support controlled-environment agriculture for improved crop production.

The project is expected to enhance agricultural productivity by enabling year-round cultivation of crops, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve food supply within the region. It will also provide training and practical exposure for students and local farmers, promote agribusiness opportunities, and generate employment. Additionally, the initiative will contribute to sustainable agricultural practices and economic development in Okpe Local Government Area.
