INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT AT OTUDLE PRIMARY SCHOOL, EMU-EBENDO, NDOKWA WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The infrastructural development project at Otudle Primary School in Emu-Ebendo, located in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, was undertaken to address critical deficits in the physical learning environment and improve conditions for effective basic education delivery. Many rural public primary schools operate in deteriorating classroom structures with inadequate furniture and limited sanitation facilities, which constrain teaching and learning outcomes. The project therefore focused on rehabilitating and/or constructing classroom blocks, supplying desks and chairs for pupils and teachers, and upgrading essential amenities such as toilets and water points to provide safe, functional, and child-friendly learning spaces.

By strengthening the school’s infrastructure base, the intervention is expected to increase enrolment, improve attendance and retention, and enhance teacher effectiveness and learner engagement. The project supports equitable access to quality primary education and contributes to community development priorities in Ndokwa West LGA. Through the provision of secure and dignified learning environments, the initiative advances progress toward Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education, Clean Water and Sanitation, and resilient infrastructure, thereby promoting long-term human capital development in Emu-Ebendo and surrounding communities.
