PROCUREMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS AND TEXTBOOKS FOR PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN DELTA STATE FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION.

The procurement of instructional materials and textbooks for public secondary schools across Delta State for the 2023/2024 academic session was implemented to strengthen teaching and learning processes and improve academic performance among students. Many public secondary schools face shortages of up-to-date textbooks, teaching aids, and subject-specific instructional resources, which limits curriculum delivery and student comprehension. The project therefore focused on the acquisition and distribution of core subject textbooks, teachers’ guides, and supplementary instructional materials aligned with the national curriculum, ensuring that students and teachers have adequate and standardized learning resources.

By enhancing access to quality learning materials, the intervention supports improved student engagement, better examination outcomes, and more effective classroom instruction across urban and rural schools in the state. The project promotes equity in education by reducing disparities in resource availability among public secondary schools and contributes to the development of skilled and knowledgeable youth. Overall, the initiative advances progress toward Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities while strengthening the human capital base necessary for sustainable socio-economic development in Delta State.
