CONSTRUCTION OF OWANTA ALIOSIMI ROAD WITH A SPUR TO POWER LINE AND FRIDAY BENSON ROADS, IKA NORTH-EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The project entails the construction of the Owanta–Aliosimi Road, including a spur connecting to Power Line Road and Friday Benson Roads in Ika North-East Local Government Area. The scope of work of the road with 1,755m length and drains of 4,170lm includes site clearance, earthworks involving removal of topsoil and filling with approved laterite, pothole regulation, concrete works of drains and culverts and construction of two discharge channels to convey the runoff from the catchment area to the Orogodo river, construction of rip rap for slope protectionm laying of crushed stone base and asphalt surfacing of binder and wearing courses as well as pavement thermoplastinc markings. The inclusion of spur roads is aimed at extending accessibility to adjoining areas and improving the overall road network.

Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance connectivity between communities, reduce travel time, and improve access to essential services such as markets, schools, and healthcare facilities. It will also support socio-economic development by facilitating the movement of goods and services, encouraging investment, and improving living standards. Overall, the project contributes to sustainable infrastructure development and regional growth.
